Learning Programmes and Individual Education Plans
---
Following receipt of an assessment report, the development of an individual learning programme can be requested by parents or school. This includes a school visit of 2 - 3 hours, discussion with staff and written recommendations which are tailored to the child's educational needs in the light of current school provision and resources. An individual learning programme may be geared to provide supplementary work at home or integrated within the school-based timetable with the headteacher's agreement. Upon request, parents can be put in touch with appropriately qualified teachers who offer individual specialist tuition which is supplementary to the school curriculum. Learning programmes may cover a range of children's needs: from the focused training of specific skills, for dyslexic students for example, to a broader educational curriculum for children with general learning difficulties.
